These products are all individually hand-made and in many cases are unique and one-off. The products shown here should be considered as samples of Marlene's art. You can request a particular design and Marlene will create it especially for you. Please remember that no two will be the same and your finished piece will not appear exactly as it is shown here.

The blending of colour on silk is always just fantastic to watch, some colours creating unexpected blends the end result is always a new experience for me. Scarf on pure Australian Merino Wool Voile the method used is Arashi, this scarf was twisted around a cylinder, tied with string and the colours applied. It is a resist method of working - every one is individual and different. The element of surprise is what I love as the result is alway a surprise. This scarf has an optical effect and is slightly pleated because of the process of steaming it with the string wrapped around it, which adds to the effect. Colour and texture create this very individual and one only scarf.

Scarf on Pure Australian Merino Wool Voile the method used is Arashi which is a resist method of applying the dyes. The same dyes are used as I paint the silk with, the wool is twisted around a cylinder and the dyes applied. I love doing this method as the results are always a surprise for me, colour and patterns are vibrant or soft depending on how they are applied. This scarf is wounderful and soft to wear and because the lanoline is removed there is not the reaction that some people have with wool.

The model is wearing a Silk Sarong painted in the wonderful blues, greens and turquoise of the Ocean, which is near where I live, I receive continual inspiration from the colours in all weathers and usual walk or swim daily. The top is a scarf which tones with the Sarong and the wrap is also interchangeable as an Sarong. Feel the healing of the Ocean Colours and enjoy wearing them. The Sarong is also suitable as a wall hanging. 9s "The Scrunch Silk Scarf"
These are wonderful to wear smart or casual, they dress up relaxed clothing and make a difference to any outfit. I wear mine with summer or winter outfits and no ironing which is great. These are all one size of 74x74cm but different lengths are available. Fully washable just use cold water with a gentle soap or hair shampoo, rinse in cold water add white vinegar or hair conditioner to final rinse, twist or scrunch up and dry. Easy for travell and fun to wear with beaded corners.

This vibrant silk scrunched and using the Arashi method has the beautiful rich colours of winter, a great addition to wear with winter suits, jumpers, dress up or dress down. Painted on fine Paj Silk, the length is 165cm and unscrunched width is 45cm. I just love the blending of colour creating an individual item every time. Different colour combinations also available so if you do not see what you are looking for please just ask. This is part of my Tribal Series which is how it felt to me. Tribal, the rich earthy colours and design of this beautiful Arashi Silk scarf felt very Tribal to me so that is what I have called this series. Painted on fine Silk Paj, a joy to wear creating that individual look for you. The patterns vary throughout this scarf and are truly beautiful.
